Would not recommend

The app looks nice, but I dont feel that it is accurate. I compared Sleep Better against a number of other apps and my Fitbit, and this app said that I was awake 50-90% more than the other apps. Some of the numbers on the charts dont seem to make sense. Just one example, on the Statistics page, it says that my average sleep efficiency is 86%, but it says that I only sleep 26% of the time. Also, the duration and sleep efficiency charts have the hours slept and the sleep efficiency percentages upside down. I know that this last complaint has been called attention to many months ago and it is still not fixed. I wasted a $1.99. Although I know that none of these kinds of apps are real accurate because they dont measure brain waves, there are other sleep apps that do a much better job at estimating sleep patterns.

Like the concept; How accurate is it?

If it is not attached to my body (sitting under my pillow) how accurate can it be? Is it possible when my spouse turns over it picks up there body movement? Not that I want anything attached to my body. I went through a sleep study at a sleep center study. They said I have severe sleep apnea BUT, I had leads all over my body and goop in my hair like glue (I suppose to keep the leads connected) and then through the night someone who was monitoring me asking me questions through a speaker system in the room. So, foreign room, foreign bed, people coming in my room while trying to sleep (very restlessly) I presume because the leads were not staying where placed. And to adjust the foreign mask they had me wear. All just made for a terrible night.

I was pretty skeptical downloading this application because the previous app I used recorded sound while I had slept and that was a feature that I loved. After one night with this app however, I purchased the more advanced version they offered because of how great I found it. I dont think Ill ever use a different app than this one. Whats more is that my doctor loves this app too and he uses it as reference when I go in doe an appointment! Thank you for this great, high quality application.

Not as bad but dont buy full version

I bought the full version thinking it was great but i still regret up to today dont buy it. Also I deleted the app but after a couple month I reset my phone and downloaded he app again and tried to set an alarm until I noticed that my full version was missing. Please dont buy it youll regret it.

Ive had this app for months. I loved it. The longer I used it the more data I got which was great. But lately, a few times the alarm hasnt gone off causing me to be late for work. I dont know why this is happening now because it never used to before. This issue should really be fixed ASAP or they are going to lose a lot of users.

Broken UI?

In the statistics screen, the hours appear to be listed backwards, at least for me. The bars go from bottom to top (i.e. lower lengths of time sleeping have shorter bars), but the values go from top to bottom. So I still have a listed range of sleep periods (between 4 and 10 hours this week) and I can see which nights I slept the least and the most, but then that low value is listed at the top and the high value is listed at the bottom... Basically, its a chart where the y-value is the opposite of what its trying to represent. I hope this is just a bug, and I really hope the developers fix it. Aside from that, I feel this app works pretty well, although I dont think that it does a good enough job of explaining how the sleep efficiency works. It gives me a percent, but I dont know what that percentage actually represents. Is that the time during the night that I spend actually asleep? I would assume that, but the numbers dont correspond to the green/orange/red bars—I get numbers like 85%, but only about 60% of the bar is green. Maybe an info bubble somewhere in the app to explain how to interpret the information thats there?

Tracks your sleep stats in an easy to understand chart. I really like the "smart alarm" feature and that you can even track your dreams. Havent had to use the feature where you let it know if you ate late or drank or had a stressful day yet but theyre just even more cool features to use. Highly recommended - the alarm sounds are great too! They start out soft and gradually get louder to wake you up gently...which is important to someone like me who hates being "startled awake" by loud alarms. Try out the free version first to play around and buy the full version later like I did. You wont be disappointed by this handy app!!
